Burton Anderson obituary, 1/4/06


Burton Anderson, age 77 of Darwin, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006 at the Dassel Lakeside Community Home.
Funeral services will be today, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Dassel with the Rev. Doug Pierce officiating. Interment will be at the Lake Jennie Covenant Church Cemetery.
A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel today.
Burton, the son of Theodore and Helen (Peterson) Anderson, was born July 10, 1928 on the family farm in Collinwood Township, Meeker County. He grew up in the Lake Jennie area, where he attended school and helped with the farm chores.
He was inducted into the US Army June 15, 1954, and served his country until May of 1956. After serving in the Army, Burton returned to the Darwin and Dassel area and made his home there.
Burton was employed by the Haapala Seed Company, and later by Swartz Manufacturing in Litchfield, where he worked as a janitor.
He was an avid fisherman, and loved to visit with friends over dinner. He also enjoyed going for drives and looking at the scenery.
Burton is survived by his brother, Stanley (Ardell) Anderson of Hutchinson, as well as friends, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Donald, and Allen; and two sisters, LeVonne and Helen Marie.
Arrangements are being handled by the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel.
