Valborg Evelyn Anderson obituary, 10/18/06


Valborg Evelyn Anderson, age 94, of Maple Plain, formerly of Austin, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006 at the Haven Homes in Maple Plain.
She was born April 10, 1912 to Charles and Bertha Anderson in Thief River Falls.
Val was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. She loved her faith, and continued her devotionals three times daily.
An elementary school teacher for 41 years, Val loved to travel. Reading, the daily paper or one of several books that she always had going, was a constant enjoyment.
Val was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bertha; her brothers, Paul and Harold Anderson; and her sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Art Lillenas.
She is survived by her many loving nieces and nephews, and their families.
Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. at the Light of Christ Lutheran Church in Delano, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. at the church, prior to the services.
Another service took place Saturday, Oct. 21 at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin at 10 a.m., with a visitation in the church from 9 to 10 a.m., prior to the services. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
