Lucille “Jinny” Rachel Anderson obituary, 8/27/06


Lucille “Jinny” Rachel Priscilla Anderson. age 87 of Cokato, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 at the Buffalo Hospital.
She was born at home in Cokato Sept. 20, 1918, to Peter and Selma (Walberg) Calgren. Jinny grew up in Cokato, graduating from Cokato High School with the class of 1936.
Following high school, Jinny went to the Minnesota School of Business, taking secretarial classes.
She was employed at Johnson Produce, and also as a secretary for the lawyer, Clifford Olson.
Jinny was married to Myron Anderson May 20, 1938 in Northwood, Iowa. They lived first in Lake City, before moving to Cokato.
Jinny enjoyed knitting, reading and traveling. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, including teaching Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by son, Joel (Betty) Anderson of Cokato, and their sons, Braden Anderson of Shakopee and Justin Anderson of Chanhassen; son-in-law, Bill Bergren of Cokato, and his daughters, Kate, Kelly, and Karen; and great-granddaughter Clara Bergren.
Jinny was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Myron; daughter, Cindy Bergren; sisters Bernice Mikkelson and Eldora Hempel; and brothers, Clayton and Clifford Calgren.
Funeral service was Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cokato. Interment was in the Cokato Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation took place Tuesday, Aug. 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato, and continued for one hour Wednesday, prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.
