Ronald Fay Anderson, age 63, of Dassel, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at Hutchinson Community Hospital.
Services were conducted Friday, Jan. 13, 2 p.m. at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Dassel, with the Rev. Steven Olson officiating. Interment was at Dassel Cemetery. Music was by Florene Osness, organist; and Sheldon Hedin, soloist who sang “Beyond the Sunset.” Congregational hymns were “How Great Thou Art” and “Onward Christian Soldier.”
Casket bearers were Dennis Hendrickson, Dean Carlson, Allan Nyman, Jim Stewart, Bob Reichow, and Darwin Koll.
Ronald Fay Anderson was born Feb. 7, 1942, to Otto and Sylvia (Bell) Anderson at Clearwater. He was raised in Clearwater until age 12, when he came to live with Helen and Carl Nyman. He was baptized and confirmed at Gethsemane Lutheran Church (First Lutheran), where he was still a member.
He graduated from Dassel High School in 1960. Following high school, he was inducted into the US Army, serving from 1964-1966.
Ronald married Gayle Tusha Sept. 16, 1967, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel. They resided in Collinwood Township, next to the farm where he was raised.
He was employed as a sheet metal worker and was a member of the United Sheet Metal Union.
Ronald was an avid trap shooter at Dassel Rod and Gun Club, Darwin Rod and Gun Club, and at Gopher Camp Fire. He enjoyed hunting and trapping, and ran a trap line every year.
Survivors include his wife Gayle, of Dassel; children, Troy (Laura Fox-Anderson) of Savage, and Renee (Gary) Friauf of Lake Lillian; three grandchildren, Jayden Friauf, Adam Fox, and Sophia Anderson, and one soon-to-be granddaughter; mother, Helen Nyman of Dassel; brother Leroy Anderson of Minneapolis; and sisters, Gloria Davis of Dewey Ariz., and Darlene (Hugh) Churchill of Minneapolis.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Carl Nyman; a twin brother, Ralph; and his parents, Sylvia and Otto Anderson.
