Edna Ida Ulrike Berry
Edna Ida Ulrike Berry, age 94, of Lester Prairie, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the Glencoe Regional Health Services long term care unit.
She was born July 8, 1911 in Young America, the daughter of Arnold and Louise (Mueller) Feltmann.
Edna was united in marriage to Leland Berry April 22, 1937 in Young America by the Rev. Kramer.
She was employed at Tonka Toys, and also Green Giant for awhile.
Edna enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was gardening in her garden, having a picnic outside, or sitting on the lake fishing. She was a great cook and loved to bake pies; when people came over to visit, she would have pie waiting for them.
She also enjoyed getting together with friends to visit or play cards. One of Edna’s favorite card games was Rook. Going out dancing with her husband or going out to eat with him were also things she enjoyed. Many times, the family would go for a slow Sunday drive around the country, just enjoying the day.
Edna was a very happy housewife, and one of her greatest joys in life was her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Leland.
She is survived by her daughters, Deloris Brelje (husband Wesley) of Aitkin, Betty Lou Rolf of Burnsville, and Beverly Schiller (husband Donald) of Lafayette, Colo.; grandchildren Cheryl Kocherer (husband Roger), Kenneth Brelje (friend Marilyn), Steven Rolf (friend Jennifer), Scott Rolf, Todd Rolf, Jason Rolf (wife Gina), Jacquelyn Blanch (husband Dominic) and Tiffany Schiller (friend Ryan); and great-grandchildren Heather Brelje, Alexandra Rolf, Nick Blanch, Zach Blanch, Josh Blanch, Iseik Blanch, Jim Kocherer (wife Bridgette) and Mike Kocherer (fiancée Sandy).
Edna is further survived by her sister, Elizabeth Berry of Glencoe; and sister-in-law Dorothy Berry of Wadena; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were Sunday, April 9 at 2 p.m. at the Prairie Community Church in Lester Prairie with the Rev. Bill Baldwin officiating. The organist was Sonja Johnson. Soloist Marvin Westermann sang “Abide With Me” and “Amazing Grace.” Congregational hymns were “Blessed Assurance” and “In The Garden.” Interment was in the Lester Prairie City Cemetery.
Visitation took place Saturday evening, April 8, at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie.
Serving as casket bearers were Steven Rolf, Todd Rolf, Kenneth Brelje, Daryl Feltmann, Gary Feltmann, and Allan Feltmann.
Arrangements were with the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie.
