Wilton Kenneth Birkholz
Wilton Kenneth Birkholz, age 75 of Middleville Township, Howard Lake, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the Cokato Manor.
He was born Oct. 18, 1930 at home on the family farm in Middleville Township, to Awalt and Frieda (Stuevens) Birkholz. He grew up there, attending country school until the eighth grade. Wilton started farming following his schooling.
Wilton married Phyllis Jones June 27, 1953 at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. He lived and farmed his entire life in Middleville Township.
Wilton enjoyed horses, attending auction sales, hunting, bowling, and playing cards. He also enjoyed visiting with people, and he did this often at Sunni’s Grille in Howard Lake, and Swan’s Café in Litchfield.
He is survived by his children, Bradley Birkholz of Howard Lake, Brenda (David) Phillips, and Lucinda Woller, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren Beau Birkholz, Cameron Birkholz, Shea Birkholz, Lindsey (Greg) Wendorff, Ryan Heilman, Amber Woller, Zachary Woller, James Phillips, and Claire Phillips; and brothers and sisters Wilma Nelson, Ruby (Don) Drusch, Virgil (Ann) Birkholz, and Merrill (Ramona) Birkholz.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were Friday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at Howard Lake Christian Church with the Rev. Rick Messer officiating. Music was by Dennis Entinger. Interment followed at Howard Lake City Cemetery.
Visitation was Thursday, June 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Honorary casket bearer was Beau Birkholz.
Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake.
