Helen Clara Bolstad
Helen Clara Bolstad, age 84 of Howard Lake, and formerly of Buffalo, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born Nov. 28, 1921 in Monticello, the daughter of Walter and Bertha (Lubbes) Stokes.
Helen was known for her great sense of humor. She loved to play cards, and also enjoyed family gatherings, animals, and pro-wrestling.
She is survived by her sons, John E. (Donna Marquette) O’Flanagan, and Herbert L. (Carole) O’Flanagan, all of Buffalo; son-in-law Ken Tennison of Cornell, Wis.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Bolstad, in 1970; an infant sister; a brother, Fred Stokes; a daughter, Bernice “Toots” Tennison, in 1981; and by a daughter-in-law, Delores O’Flanagan, in 1995.
A memorial service took place Saturday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo with the Rev. Steve Svoboda officiating. Lorraine Wolff was the organist, and Jamie O’Flanagan was the soloist.
Spring interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Fergus Falls.
