Dorothy Jane Custer
Dorothy Jane Custer, age 76, of Cokato, and formerly of Howard Lake, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006 at the Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
She was born Dec. 15, 1929 to Albin and Hannah (Lundal) Hultman in Stockholm Township, where she grew up, attended Stockholm schools, and graduated from Cokato High School with the class of 1947.
Dorothy was married to Amos Custer Oct. 16, 1948. They lived south of Howard Lake, by Rice Lake, before moving to Cokato.
Dorothy was employed at National Connector and Fabri Tech for 25 years.
A lifelong member of Stockholm Lutheran Church, rural Cokato, Dorothy was active in the women’s Bible study group.
She enjoyed cooking, canning, quilting, shopping, puzzles, and reading; and especially loved time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Amos; children Karen Grundhoefer, Duane Custer, Cindy (Alan) Custer, and Lori (Doug) Custer; grandchildren Todd (Michelle) Grundhoefer, and Tim Grundhoefer; and sister Rose Peterson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Pearl Wessman; and brothers Ray Hultman and Lorence Hultman.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. at Stockholm Lutheran Church with Minister Signe Gray, AiM officiating. Music was provided by Diane Johnson and Curtis Grundahl. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Casket bearers were Doug Boyington, Alan Personius, Tim Grundhoefer, Todd Grundhoefer, and Lyle Severson.
Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.
