Cyril Edward Dressen
Cyril Edward Dressen, age 76, of Waverly, died Friday, June 2, 2006 at the Sunrise Cottages in Buffalo.
He was born July 7, 1929 on the family farm in Marysville Township, to Johanna and Edward Dressen. He attended Jandro Country School for one year, and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in 1947.
Cy and his wife of 54 years, Mary Ann, raised a family of seven children on Cy’s family farm in Marysville Township.
Cy enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. The daily paper was a staple enjoyment, as well as bowling, card playing, Twins baseball, sports on TV, dancing, and practical jokes.
He left his children with wonderful memories, especially his love of the land and his sense of humor.
Cy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Ann; and a daughter, Beverly.
He is survived by his children, Donna and Dehl Gallagher, Cathy Decker, Mary Jo and Eugene Oliver, Charles Dressen and special friend Leanne LaFave, Colleen and Gary Hay, Mary Dressen, and Jennifer Dressen; 11 grandchildren: Amy Eveslage, Nicole Hansen, Michael Oliver, Erin Oliver, Christopher Dressen, Lindsay Dressen, Andrew Gallagher, Nial Hay, Chelsea Hay, Kali Dressen, and Zachary Dressen; sister and brother-in-law Maxine and George Hass; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Beatrice and Ken Hausladen.
Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, June 10 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly, with the Rev. Timothy Cloutier officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Visitation took place Friday, June 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, and continued Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church, prior to the Mass.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
