Beatrice L. Erickson
Beatrice L. Erickson, age 97 of Minneapolis, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Augustana Care Center in Minneapolis.
She was born Feb. 5, 1909 in Kingston Township, on the Erickson family farm. Her parents, Axel and Mary Erickson, were Swedish immigrants who raised their family on this farm in the late 1800s and the early 1900s.
Beatrice lived on the farm until the late 1940s, at which time she moved to Minneapolis and resided with her sister, Vena, and brother-in-law, Alfred Johnson.
Beatrice worked in Minneapolis until her retirement. She continued to live with her sister, and they moved to Park Center Apartments a few years after Alfred’s death.
After Vena’s death, Beatrice continued to live at Park Center until she moved to the Augustana Care Center in late 2003.
Beatrice loved to travel, going on many trips which she enjoyed to the utmost. She was a very good photographer, and captured many of her family and friends on film, as well as much of nature. She particularly loved flowers, and had many beautiful colored pictures of them.
In addition to her sister, Vena, and brother-in-law Alfred Johnson; Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Elmer, Rupert, Eugene, David, and Harold; and nephew William Allen Erickson.
She is survived by nephews Willis Erickson, Elwood Erickson, and Theodore Erickson.
A memorial service took place at the Augustana Care Center April 5.
