Jeanne Marie Fasching
Jeanne Marie Fasching, age 62, of Winsted, died Wednesday evening, July 5, 2006 at Birchwood Hospice House in Hutchinson, surrounded by her loved ones. She survived four years after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2002.
Jeanne was born April 26, 1944 in Winsted, the daughter of John J. and Fern (Lacina) Littfin.
She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1962, and later attended the St. Cloud School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1967 as a registered nurse.
Jeanne and Stanley Bernard Fasching were joined in holy matrimony Sept. 9, 1967, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with three sons.
Jeanne was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved to be “on the go,” and was very involved with her children and grandchild, all of whom lived within a mile of her home. Her hobbies included fishing, golfing, gardening, and cooking.
A faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Jeanne belonged to the Council of Catholic Women.
Nursing was Jeanne’s vocation. She was always caring for others, was passionate about her profession, and served as a mentor to many nurses over the years. Over the course of her career, she was employed as a registered nurse at several hospitals in Florida, California, and in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. She also worked at St. Mary’s in Winsted, and for the past 15 years, she was employed by Glencoe Regional Health Services in the Long Term Care facility.
Jeanne is survived by her sons, Michael Jon (Diana) Fasching, Marc Leonard (Nancy) Fasching, and Max Sheldon Fasching (special friend Sarah Bisping), all of Winsted; grandson Thomas Joseph (“T.J.”) Fasching of Winsted; brothers Jack (Petie) Littfin, and Jerry Littfin, both of Winsted; sisters-in-law Mary Ann (Bob) Cowell of Monroe, Neb., and Jane (Lee) Lindquist of Brooklyn Park; mother-in-law Marcella Fasching of Winsted; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, in 1985; parents John J. and Fern Littfin; and father-in-law Leonard Fasching.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Sunday, July 9 at 3 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant. Alice Nowak was the organist, and Michael Fasching, Jeanne’s son, was the pianist for the Mass. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation was from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 9 at the church, prior to the Mass.
Casket bearers were Jill Heffron, Mark Littfin, Matthew Littfin, Mitchell Littfin, Jacob Littfin, Jim Cowell, Dan Lindquist, and Jason Kieser.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
