Patricia (Pat) Giesen

Patricia (Pat) Giesen, age 92 of Delano, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 while in hospice care at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, following a stroke.

Pat was born in Chicago Sept. 30, 1913 to George and Veronica (Rose) Eggleston. She moved with her family to Minneapolis in 1926, and graduated from Incarnation Grade School and Central High School.

Pat married Earl Giesen in 1936 in Minneapolis. In 1944, the family moved to Delano. Earl preceded Pat in death in November 1973.

Pat lived in Delano until 2000, when she moved to Hopkins. Pat was a member of St. Peter Catholic parish in Delano for 62 years.

Pat is survived by her son, Jim (Judy) of Dubuque, Iowa; her daughters, Mary of Minneapolis, and Linda (Henry Dixon) of Dixon, Ill.; grandsons Tom, Tim, Erik, Bob, and Henry Jr.; granddaughters Julie and Kerry; and great-grandchildren Truman, Jack, Jackson, Benjamin, and Quincy.

She is further survived by brothers Don Eggleston of Edina and George Eggleston of Bloomington; five nieces, and two nephews.

Pat enjoyed playing Bridge. She was a great woman, who showered unconditional love on her family.

Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano.

Visitation was Monday, Feb. 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano; and continued from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church, prior to Mass. A prayer service took place at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
