Albin R. Hendrickson
Albin R. Hendrickson, age 81 of Kingston Township, Meeker County, died Friday, June 30, 2006 at his home.
He was born June 15, 1925 in Kingston Township, Meeker County, the son of Arvid A. and Lempi (Kaliainen) Hendrickson. He received his education in the rural school system of Meeker County.
As a young man, Albin was inducted and served his country in the US Army.
He was united in marriage to Marie Hallstrom Aug. 22, 1953 in Eben Junction, Mich.
For the past 51 years, Albin and Marie lived and farmed along the Crow River in Kingston Township.
Albin was an active member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Kingston.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; six daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Marlon Koistinen of Kimball, Donna and Ralph Foley of Kingston, Jane and Tom Tervo of Woodland, Wash., Alice and John Karvonen of Battle Ground, Wash., Rita and Barry Waatti of Woodland, Wash., and Kay and Arnie Sundberg of Kingston; 49 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Albin is further survived by brothers and sisters, Daniel (Shirley), and Reuben (Helen), all of Kingston; Ruth Blakeman of Brush Prairie, Wash.; David (Flora) of Kingston; Elizabeth (Patrick) Foley of Brush Prairie, Wash., and Raymond (Dorothy) of Woodland, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Marlys, who died in 1962.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 4 at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Kingston, in rural Dassel. Officiating at the service were Warren Lindberg and Albin’s brother, David Hendrickson. Interment followed at the Swan Lake Cemetery.
Casket bearers were six of Albin’s grandsons: Ben Koistinen, Miles Foley, Quentin Tervo, Neil Karvonen, Donald Waatti, and Riley Sundberg.
Arrangements were by the Johnson Funeral Home of Dassel.
