Esther E. Ittel
Esther E. Ittel, age 84, of Watertown, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006 at the St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
She was born May 17, 1922 to Fred and Elizabeth (Bleichner) Engelen in Bongards.
Esther and her husband, Melvin, owned and operated the Hollywood Store for 18 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Melvin; sisters and brothers-in-law Violet and Herb Burau, Myrtle and Willard Richardson, and Gladys Olson; and a brother, Herman “Buddy” Engelen.
Esther is survived by her children: sons Sheldon and Shirley Ittel, and Doug and Diane Ittel; daughters Nellie and Pete Poetz, and Colleen Ittel; grandchildren Brad Ittel, Brian Ittel, Brenda and Greg Worm, Lisa Hagen, Lonnie Lachermeier, Angela Lachermeier and Ken Kutz, Lanny and Kerri Lachermeier, Kelli and Dan Osterkamp, Chad and Tami Ittel, Traci Machenthun, and Melissa and Mark Foster; great-grandchildren Bob, Tom, and Jeff Worm, Sharaya and Kaisha Hagen, Mitchell and Karson Lachermeier, Shawn and Josh Osterkamp, Jada Machenthun, and Mason Ittel; brother-in-law Sherm Olson; and sister-in-law Dorothy Engelen.
Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Paul Krentz officiating. Interment was in the Watertown Community Cemetery.
Visitation took place Thursday, Oct. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church, and continued Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the services.
Arrangements were by the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
