Edith O. Kettenacker, 89
Edith O. Kettenacker, age 89, of Rockford, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 at Park View Care Center, Buffalo.
She was born Dec. 5, 1916 in Rockford Township, Wright County, the daughter of Albert and Alvina Bethke Schleif. Edith was baptized Jan. 7, 1917, and confirmed June 8, 1930 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hanover.
She was united in marriage to Norman F. Kettenacker Feb. 3, 1940. After their marriage, they engaged in dairy farming for many years,
Edith enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edith is survived by her children: Arlene (Eugene) Mutterer of Rockford, Fred (Reenie) Kettenacker of Cologne, Jean Pederson of Buffalo, and John (Lynn) Kettenacker of Turtle Lake, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman, on June 17, 1972; four brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. at the Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rockford, with visitation at the church from noon until the time of the funeral. The Rev. Michael T. Barlow officiated at the service. Connie Brown was the organist, and the congregational hymns were “Just As I Am,” “Amazing Grace,” “Jesus Lover Of My Soul,” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Casket bearers were Jerret Schallock, Caleb Kettenacker, Ethan Kettenacker, Darren Bursch, Doug Bursch, Paul Mutterer, and Brian Kettenacker.
The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo served the family.
