“Smokey” (Dale Allen) Keuten
“Smokey” (Dale Allen) Keuten, age 56, of Red Wing, formerly of St. Paul, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006 following an 18-year battle from injuries sustained as a victim of a hit and run accident in St. Paul, July 24, 1988.
Smokey was born March 8, 1950 in Superior, Wis.
He attended Big Lake High School and entered the US Army in 1967, serving in Germany and Vietnam, to 1970.
Smokey graduated from St. Paul Tech. Institute in 1977.
He is survived by his mother, Aileen Edwards; sisters Donna and Herb Bellach, Shirley and Curt Varner, and Marilyn and Howard Paumen; many nieces and nephews; and former wife and life friend, Judy Keuten.
A memorial service took place Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Saron Lutheran Church in Big Lake, preceded by a gathering of family and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. The Revs. James Lindekugel and R.W. Oltmanns officiated at the service.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
