Kevin Lee Kieser
Kevin Lee Kieser, age 55, of Winsted, died Sunday morning, Oct. 29, 2006.
He was born Jan. 8, 1951 in Watertown, the son of Walter F. and Arleen S. Lohrke Kieser. Kevin was baptized Jan. 28, 1951 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany by the Rev. Fred Pfotenhauer. He was instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith May 29, 1966 by the Rev. Garth Baker.
Kevin enjoyed fishing with his dad, watching TV, especially cartoons; bicycling, and gardening.
His last visit home was Tuesday, Oct. 24, when he spent the day celebrating the birthday of his mother, whom he loved.
Kevin was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winsted.
He is survived by his loving mother, Arleen S. Kieser of Winsted; three brothers, Harlan D. Kieser, Darryl W. Kieser and fiance Sherry Paschke, and Todd A. Kieser, all of Winsted; an uncle, Donald Lohrke; aunts Dolores Kieser, Florence Kieser, and Rose Mary LaMotte; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Walter F. “Wally” Kieser in 1986; and by his grandparents, Henry and Lillie Lohrke, and Andrew and Susan Kieser.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winsted. with the Rev. Gerald L. Boldt officiating. Sharon Pingree was the organist. Congregational hymns were “In the Garden” and “How Great Thou Art.” Soloist Bruce Gatz sang “The Lord’s Prayer.” Interment followed at Winsted Public Cemetery.
Friends called Tuesday, Oct. 31 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Casket bearers were Gary Schauer, Ronnie Schauer, Jerome Roufs, Willy Roufs, Rick Menden, and Gary Doucette.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
