Leonard Phillip Koziol
Leonard Phillip Koziol, age 70, of Shasta Lake, Calif., died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006 in Anderson, Calif.
He was born in Watertown to Theodore and Catherine (Chmielewski) Koziol Feb. 10, 1936. Leonard went to District 32 country school in Franklin Township, and attended Delano High School.
He worked for a number of farmers around the Wright and Carver counties area as a boy, starting at age nine.
Leonard enlisted in the US Air Force in 1954 and seved as a radar operator in Korea.
He married Carol Mattoon June 23, 1957 at Sacred Heart Church in Red Bluff, Calif.
Leonard was a contract trucker for the Sacramento Bee newspaper for 39 years, and was currently employed by Lewis Delivery of Redding, Calif.
He attended Millville Community Baptist Church.
Leonard loved to travel, just having returned from a special time with family and friends in Minnesota. He was a help to so many people and was known for his good sense of humor.
Leonard was related to the Salonek and Gabrelcik families.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol, of Shasta Lake, Calif.; his daughter, Anne (Michael) Poe of Shasta Lake, Calif.; and his son, David, of Anderson, Calif.; four grandchildren, Aimee Poe, Katie Poe, Matthew Poe, and Justin McCormick; and a brother, Richard (Donna) of Blaine.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Catherine.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. at Allen and Dahl Funeral Chapel in Palo Cedro, Calif. Interment was at the Los Molinos Cemetery in Los Molinos, Calif.
Visitation took place from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8 in the chapel.
