Dorothy Marie Kritzeck

Dorothy Marie (Schlagel) Kritzeck, age 90, of Winsted, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

Visitation will be today, April 17, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a rosary at 9:30 a.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will follow, at noon at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. The Rev. Paul Wolf will be the celebrant, and Lavon Kielkucki will serve as the organist.

Casket bearers are David Krit-zeck, Stacey Paulson, Lori Wick, Scott Lhhotka, Eric Kritzeck, and Brent Kritzeck.

Dorothy was born May 8, 1915 in Victor Township, Wright County, the daughter of Michael and Margaret (Mulvaney) Schlagel. She grew up on a farm in Victor Township, and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1933.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Gervase Kritzeck Nov. 28, 1940 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

The couple made their home on the farm across the road from where she grew up. Dorothy and her husband raised three children, Roger, Janice, and Lyle.

Dorothy enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. She also enjoyed gardening, all family activities, walks, and visiting with her siblings. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Dorothy was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

She is survived by her children, Roger Kritzeck of Howard Lake, Janice (Larry) Lhotka of Silver Lake, and Lyle (Marlene) Kritzeck of Winsted; brothers Donald (Myrtle) Schlagel of Howard Lake, and Alden (Betty) Schlagel of Woodbury; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Margaret Schlagel; husband Gervase Kritzeck; and brothers William, Cecil, and Gilbert Schlagel.

The Chilson Funeral Home of Winsted served the family.
