Donald M. Lahr
Donald M. Lahr, age 83, of Eden Valley, died Friday, July 21, 2006 at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins.
Donald was born Dec. 18, 1922 in Eden Valley to Peter and Mary (Westrup) Lahr.
He married Fidelia Sterner June 17, 1950 in Winsted. They farmed in rural Eden Valley until 1998, when they moved into the city of Eden Valley.
Donald was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, St. Joseph Society, Paynesville Knights of Columbus St. Louis Council 3820, and Eden Valley Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife, Fidelia, of Eden Valley; sons, daughters, and spouses, Lawrence (Lois) Lahr of Onamia, Kenneth (Linda) Lahr of St. Stephen, Paul (Teresa) Lahr of Dassel, Ann (David) Valley of Albertville, Margaret (Carl) Dawn of West St. Paul, Peter (Theresa) Lahr of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dennis (Trish) Lahr of Big Lake; daughter-in-law Cindy Lahr of Willmar; brothers Herb Lahr of Richfield, and David (Anacita) Lahr of Eden Valley; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tom; an infant daughter; a sister, Eleanor Heger; a brother, Joe Lahr; sisters-in-law Margaret and Evelyn Lahr; and brother-in-law Clayton Heger.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Monday, July 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley, with the Rev. Virgil Braun officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Friends called Sunday, July 23 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Dingmann’s Eden Valley Funeral Home, with prayers by the Eden Valley Senior Citizens at 4:30 p.m., followed by St. Joseph & St. Mary’s Catholic Aid Council and Paynesville Knights of Columbus St. Louis Council 3820 at 7 p.m., and parish prayers at 8 p.m. Visitation continued Monday, July 24 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements were with Dingmann’s Eden Valley Funeral Home.
