Myrtle E. Locke
Myrtle E. Locke, age 95, of Wayzata, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006 at the Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo.
She was born April 4, 1911 to Osten and Christina (Hansen) Matson in Byron Township, Minn.
Myrtle resided in Wayzata for 53 years, where she was employed at Wayzata Country Club from 1957 to 1988. During her years of employment there, she baked and decorated cakes, arranged for parties, and coordinated events at the country club.
She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing bridge and fishing. Myrtle and her sister also ran a dress-making shop for a period of years.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmanuel J. Locke; sisters Pearl Robertson, Gladys Martinson, and Hazel Vogel; brothers Earl Matson, Ervin Matson, Leonard Matson, and Lowell Matson; and a nephew, David Bohlig.
She is survived by her sisters, Helen Bohlig of Poulsbo, Wash., Vera Feige of San Mateo, Calif., and Jean and Richard Carlton of Brookings, Ore.; four nieces; and 11 nephews.
Graveside services took place Friday, Dec. 15 at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Delano with Deacon Joseph Kittok officiating.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
