LeRoy A. “Monday” Manteuffel
LeRoy A. “Monday” Manteuffel, age 72, of Waconia, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006 at Auburn West in Waconia.
He was born July 16, 1934 in St. Bonifacius, the son of Albert and Marie (Geyen) Manteuffel. Leroy was baptized July 22, 1934 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius by the Rev. Albert Heer; he was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia April 10, 1949 by the Rev. Robert Heyne.
LeRoy was united in marriage to Judy A. Schuettpelz May 28, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by the Rev. John W. Stehr.
Monday was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He served in the US Army for two years, and was a lifetime member of Am. Vets.
LeRoy loved hunting, bowling, and just being outdoors; and always had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy; daughters and son-in-law Kimberly Jaskowiak of Norwood Young America, and Susan and Curtis Templin of Glencoe; grandchildren Angela, Judy (Chad), Holly, Emily, Toni, and Nicole; and great-grandchildren Nicole, Andrew, Dylan, and Cole.
LeRoy is further survived by his mother Marie Manteuffel of Waconia; sister Mary Ann Kottke of Chaska; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Shirley and Dennis Westphal of Buffalo, Janet and Dale Bueckers of St. Cloud, and Jean Bakken of Minneapolis; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Manteuffel; his father, Albert Manteuffel; father-in-law and mother-in-law Walter and Caroline Schuettpelz; and brothers-in-law Michael Kottke Sr., James Schuettpelz, and Gerald Bakken.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia with the Rev. Peter Peitsch officiating. Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Charles Schmakel, Randy Cram, Dennis Westphal, Dale Bueckers, DeWayne Litfin, and Roland Reinke.
Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
