Edward Joseph “Joe” McDonald
Edward Joseph “Joe” McDonald, age 79, of Hollywood Township, Watertown, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006 at the Elim Home in Watertown.
He was born Feb. 26, 1927 in Woodland Township.
Joe was a lifetime farmer on “Old McDonald’s Farm.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Margaret (Burns) McDonald; his brother, Patrick, and wife Patsy McDonald; and nephews Kenneth Borer and Brian Ewan McDonald.
Joe is survived by his three brothers: Ewan, Kenneth (K.J.), and Philip (Flip); six sisters: Margaret, Rita, Dorothy, Kathleen, Brigid, and Jane; brothers-in-law Earl Borer and ElRoy Vidlund; and sisters-in-law Barbara and Abbie McDonald; as well as many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, with the Rev. Frank Wampach officiating. Interment was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Waverly.
Visitation was Tuesday evening, Oct. 10 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the church, with a prayer service at 8:30 a.m., and continued Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the Mass.
Casket bearers were Steve Borer, Pat McDonald, Kathleen Carlson, Colleen McDonald, Mike McDonald, Frank McDonald, Tom Burns, and Tom Neaton. Joe’s nieces and nephews were honorary bearers.
Arrangements were by the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
