Roger John Moy
Roger John Moy, age 76, of Lester Prairie, died early Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
He was born March 31, 1930 in Waverly, the son of John and Clara Schug Moy.
Roger was joined in holy marriage to Marie A. Ehalt Oct. 24, 1950, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius. God blessed their marriage with seven children.
Roger was known for his strong work ethic. He was formerly employed at Mill City Plywood, in the auto body industry, and at Sterner Lighting Systems.
He enjoyed woodworking, camping, gardening, puzzles, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Roger was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marie A. Moy; children Charles “Chuck” (Martha) Moy of Waverly, Gerald “Jerry” (LuAnn) Moy of Lester Prairie, John (Meda “Mickie”) Moy of Dassel, Eleanora “Elly” (Dave) Heimerl of Kimball, Frank “Bud” (Stacy) Moy of Oak Grove, and Richard “Dick” (Mari) Moy of Monticello; a daughter-in-law, Kimberly “Kimmer” Moy of Elk River; 21 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Roger is further survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mercedes Moy of St. Peter, Yvonne Moy of Bushnell, Neb., Peter (Ruth) Ehalt of Spalding, Saskatchewan, Ferdie (Patty) Ehalt of St. Bonifacius, and Joseph (Carol) Ehalt of Topeka, Kans.; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. “Bob” Moy; his parents, John and Clara Moy; a grandson, Mark Moy; a great-grandson, Linkin Moy; three brothers, Stanley, Harold, and Leroy Moy; and a sister, Odella.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, June 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant. Inurnment was at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Waconia.
Visitation was Friday, June 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Honorary casket bearers were Roger’s grandsons: Roger Moy, Jeffrey Henning, Gerald Robinson, Andrew Heimerl, Richard Heimerl, and Timothy Moy.
Casket bearers were grandsons Lance Moy, Scott Moy, Curtis Moy, James Heimerl, Micheal Moy, Gilbert Moy, and Tyler Prescott.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
