Dorothy A. Muckenhirn
Dorothy A. Muckenhirn, age 73, of Maple Lake, formerly of Delano, died Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
She was born May 9, 1933 in Winsted, Edward and Emma (Koppel) Weibel.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Muckenhirn Oct. 5, 1957 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano. She and Robert made their home in Delano, on a farm that Dorothy cared for with a passion. She loved caring for the animals, as well as growing produce in her well-kept garden.
Dorothy worked for a period of seven years driving bus for Stahlke Bus Service before she and Robert went over-the-road driving semi. Together, they formed Triangle Enterprises, which they ran for many years before selling it to their family.
A lady of many talents, Dorothy enjoyed creating things with her hands. Numerous knitting, quilting, and embroidery projects were the norm. Her homemade apple strudel was a favorite.
Spending time with family was always a priority. Playing cards and singing became a special family memory, especially singing karoake in recent years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Emma Weibel.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert; sons Glen and Deb Muckenhirn, and James and Connie Muckenhirn; daughter Linda and Morris Mead; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Marie and Leroy Moonen; and sister-in-law Elizabeth and Arthur Barthman.
Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, Oct. 14 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delano, with the Rev. Michael Miller officiating. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery in Delano.
Visitation was Friday evening, Oct. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, and continued Saturday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, prior to leaving for Mass.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
