Donald F. Neaton
Donald F. Neaton, age 86, of Watertown, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
He was born May 2, 1920 to Dennis and Julia (May) Neaton in Blue Earth, Minn.
Donald served in the Army during World War II, being honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant Dec. 31, 1945.
Donald and his wife, Helen, made their home in Galveston, Texas, where they resided from 1945 to 1977. Upon retirement, Donald and Helen returned to Minnesota, and settled in the Watertown area.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Julia Neaton; and his sisters, Roseanne Grewe and Lorraine Campbell.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen; children James and Linda Neaton, Dennis and Joan Neaton, and Donna and Will Bobb; grandchildren Jeff and Emberly Neaton, Matthew Neaton, Sarah and Karl Kussow, Christi Neaton, Michael and Mary Neaton, Katherine Bobb, and Brian Bobb; great-grandson Daniel Kussow; brother Dennis and Patricia Neaton; and sister Lucille and Richard Pogue.
Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown, with visitation from 8 to 10 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Frank Wampach officiated at the service. Interment was in the church cemetery, with military honors provided by the Watertown Eugene Earley American Legion Post 121.
Casket bearers were Donald’s grandchildren: Jeff Neaton, Matthew Neaton, Michael Neaton, Christi Neaton, Sarah Kussow, Katherine Bobb, and Brian Bobb. Arrangements are with the Iten Funeral Home of Watertown.
