Marian Ruth Neumann
Marian Ruth Neumann, age 75, of Winsted, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 26, 1931 in Clara City, the daughter of John and Clara Littfin Knoop.
Marian graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1949.
Marian and Raymond Neumann were joined in holy marriage Feb. 27, 1954 at Ascension Catholic Church in N. Minneapolis. God blessed their marriage with three sons: Steven, Rick, and Scott.
A faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Marian also belonged to St. Anne’s Society and Catholic Order of Foresters Holy Trinity Court 1054.
Marian enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, gardening, traveling, and getting together with her many friends for coffee.
She is survived by her loving children, Steven (Becky) Neumann of Buffalo, Rick (Bonnie) Neumann of Thielman, and Scott (Sherri) Neumann of Inver Grove Heights; 10 grandchildren: Joey and Laura (Dan) Rumsey; Jesse, Sarah, Rachel, Mary (David) Pettit, and Emily; Jeff, Jacob, and Joe; five great-grandchildren; sisters and a brother, Arleen (Herb) Leier of Shoreview, Marvel (Frankie) Slanga of Silver Lake, and Ken (Marlyse) Knoop of Anoka; special friends Ed, Debbie, Nick, and Krystal Fosdick; and many other relatives and friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond K. Neumann, June 16, 1998; her parents, John and Clara Knoop; and by two brothers, John “Sonny” and Jim Knoop.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, Sept. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant. Interment was in the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted Thursday. Sept. 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Catholic Order of Foresters rosary was recited at 4 p.m., and a prayer service was at 6 p.m.
Honorary casket bearers were grandsons Jeffrey, Jacob, and Joseph Neumann.
Casket bearers were grandsons Nick Fosdick, Jesse Neumann, Dan Rumsey, David Pettit, Paul Trombley, and Andy McFarland.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
