Bruce Romeo Oestreich obituary, 8/1/06


Bruce Romeo Oestreich, age 63, of Howard Lake, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006 at his home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1942 in Minneapolis, the son of Romeo and Luella (Warnke) Oestreich. A lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, Bruce was baptized Jan. 1, 1943 by the Rev. Eugene Seltz; and confirmed in his faith March 10, 1957 by the Rev. Theo. Melinat.
Bruce was united in marriage to Connie Diers March 17, 1984 at St. James Lutheran Church by the Rev. G. C. Michael. Their 14 years together were blessed with two daughters.
Bruce lived and farmed southwest of Howard Lake. Throughout his working career, he was employed as a heavy equipment operator, retiring last fall.
He was a dedicated father, and a good friend to many.
Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Luella.
He is survived by his father, Romeo; sister Robin; daughters Kaley and Kandra; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral service was Friday, Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake with the Rev. Michael Nirva officiating. The organist was Nancy Butterfass. Interment was in the Howard Lake City Cemetery.
Visitation took place Thursday, Aug. 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.; and continued Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers were Harvey Oestreich, Craig Brose, Keith Brose, Wayne Birkholz, David Anderson, Sr., Tom Lind, Lyle Oestreich, and Duane Oestreich.
Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake.
