Edward John Polingo obituary, 6/20/06


Edward John Polingo, age 75, of Montrose, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
He was born Jan. 12, 1931 to John and Elizabeth (Secora) Polingo in Woodland Township.
Ed was the fifth generation on the original homesteaded property in Woodland Township within Wright County. He was a long-standing member in the American Milk Producers Association, and an active volunteer for Waconia Ridgeview Hospital in the gift shop, and at St. Mary of Czestochowa for church dinners and adoration.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Coghill) “Mom;” an infant son; parents John and Elizabeth Polingo; and sister and brother-in-law Mary Ann and Roger Gerardy.
He is survived by his children, five sons: John and Lynda Polingo, Laurence and Theresa Polingo, Tony Polingo, Steven Polingo, and Brian and Kim Polingo; five daughters: Marlene and Jim Kittock, Patty and Rich Zieske, Carol and Gary Schmidt, Elizabeth Polingo and Steven Berthiaume, and Jennifer Polingo; 27 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law Josephine and Marlin Sicheneder.
Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, June 23 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delano. The Rev. Michael Miller officiated at the service, with music provided by Dr. Joseph Henry, organist, and the Resurrection Choir.
Casket bearers were Edward’s sons and grandson: John Polingo, Laurence Polingo, Anthony Polingo, Steven Polingo, Brian Polingo, and Craig Kittock. Honorary bearer was Edward’s daughter, Jennifer Polingo.
