Gladys Minnie Quast
Gladys Minnie Quast, age 92, of Annandale, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006 at the Annandale Care Center.
She was born July 19, 1914 in Plato to Carl and Anna (Keusemann) Jahnke. Gladys was baptized at St. Paul’s Evangelical Church, Plato by the Rev. Ziclinski, and it was there also that she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith by the Rev. Eyrich on April 1, 1928.
Gladys married Herbert J. Quast Sept. 11, 1935 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plato by the Rev. Bunge. Gladys and Herbert lived on a farm three miles west of Plato until 1949, when they moved to Minneapolis, where they owned and operated an apartment house. In 1970, they moved to their lake home on Pleasant Lake, Annandale.
Gladys was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale.
She is survived by her sister, Alice Stevenson and husband Harold of Albertville.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, June 23, 1996; a brother, Erwin Jahnke; and sisters, Lorraine Parpart and Delores Ahmann.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale with the Rev. Thomas Queck officiating. Organist was Julie Starke. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale.
Friends called one hour prior to services at Zion Lutheran Church.
Pallbearers were Joey Nourie, Terry Bandemer, Jerome Ehlers, Jeremy Stevenson, Jim Dudley and Tom Quast.
Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
