Dennis Lee Rausch
Dennis Lee Rausch, age 55, of Dassel, died Sunday, July 9, 2006 at his home near Lake Washington.
He was born March 12, 1951 at Graceville, Minn., the son of Arthur and Loretta Frisch Rausch. He attended school and graduated from the Graceville High School.
After high school, Dennis attended Willmar Vo-tech (Ridgewater) in their mechanic program.
Following graduation in 1971, he entered the US Navy and served four years of active duty during the Vietnam Campaign.
Dennis was united in marriage to Deborah Hazelton July 21, 1973 at Lakewood, Calif.
On his discharge from active duty in 1975, the couple moved to Grace-ville, where they owned a service and gas station. They later moved to Silver Lake, and in 1978, to their present home west of Dassel, near Lake Washington.
Since 1980, Dennis had been employed as a farm equipment mechanic by Arnolds Implement of Kimball.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; children, Diane (Ben) Murray of Wolverine Lake, Mich.; Will (Michelle) of St. Cloud, Amy (Nathan) Eckhoff of Willmar, Julie Rausch of Waite Park, and James (Angel) of Dassel; five grandchildren; his parents, Arthur and Loretta Rausch of Rosholt, S.D.; a sister, Nancy (Dorrance) Larson of Rosholt, S.D.; and three brothers, Donald (Sharon) of Tehachapi, Calif., Douglas (Kim) of Fayetteville, N.C., and Kenneth (Michele) of Morris.
Dennis was preceded in death by twin sisters, who died at birth.
Funeral service was Thursday, July 13 at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel, with the Rev. Paul Schumacher officiating. Interment was Friday, July 14 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Serving as honorary casket bearers were Dennis’s grandchildren, Gabriel Pageant, Cody Berghuis, Savana Eckhoff, Alexandria Eckhoff, and Zachary Rausch.
Casket bearers were Ben Murray, Nathan Eckhoff, Will Rausch, James Rausch, Ryan Toups, Douglas Rausch, Kenneth Rausch, and Donald Rausch.
Arrangements were by the Johnson Funeral Home of Dassel.
