Arthur Daniel Robinson
Arthur Daniel Robinson, age 89, of Winsted, formerly of St. Charles, Minn., died Friday, June 9, 2006 at St. Mary’s Care Center.
He was born May 19, 1917 at St. Charles to Clinton Daniel and Ethel Louise (Camp) Robinson.
Arthur served in the 43rd Bomb Gp. 65th Bomb Squadron as a staff sergeant. He was initiated into the Ancient Order of the Deep on board the USS Mount Vernon Jan. 19, 1944, and honorably discharged Oct. 26, 1945.
After coming home from the service, Art had his own painting business, and he also cared for his mother until she passed away in 1951.
Arthur married Rachel Mae Feller Hagen June 6, 1951. They divorced May 19, 1960.
Art’s hobbies included football, baseball, fishing, and hunting. He especially enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and black and white movies.
He was a member of VFW Post 5630, and the American Legion Post 0190 in St. Charles.
Arthur is survived by nieces and nephews Jean Thomson, Beverly Schweider, James and Donald Robinson, Robert and Richard Robinson, Carol Calvin, and Kathy, Cyndi, Patricia, and Randy Robinson; as well as many great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Hazel Seifert; and brothers Horton, DeLos, Russell, George, Donald, Archie, and two infant brothers.
Funeral services were Friday, June 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Care Center Chapel in Winsted, with visitation for one hour before the service. Interment is at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
