Evelyn Lucille Rudenick

Evelyn Lucille Rudenick, age 81, of Delano, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006 at the Haven Homes in Maple Plain,

She was born Oct. 18, 1925 in Mankato, to Harry and Zelda (Yates) Worrell.

Evelyn was the family storyteller, and a source of inspiration to her family. After losing her beloved husband, Ervin Carl, in 1957, she raised her family of six on love, family stories, and humor. She welcomed every newcomer, and treasured her dear grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her sons, Ervin Bruce, and Jeffrey Todd; and by her eldest grandchild, Shayde Erin (G’ma’s Boy), at the age of 22, whom she waited so long to join.

She left a legacy of family values, and a hole in the hearts of her surviving children, Stephen (Sharon) Rudenick, Jon Rudenick, Gregory (Marlene) Rudenick, and Mary N. Jo (Bradley) Nelson; her daughter-in-law, Catherine Rudenick; and all her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: (G’ma’s) Sugar Babe, Dolly, Precious, Sugar Plum, Princess, Punkin, Schaetze, Luv, Girl, Teddy Bear, Angel (Chopped Liver), Lil Darlin, Honey Bun, Lollipop, Tootsie Roll, Greatest, Lil Buttercup, Lil Buddy, and Lil Bunny.

Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 25 at 4 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano, with visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the services.

Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
