Victor H. Schultz obituary, 2/2/06


Victor H. Schultz, age 81, of Hollywood Twp., New Germany, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006 at Elim Home in Watertown.
He was born June 25, 1924 in Bergen Twp., Lester Prairie, the son of Ewald and Minnie (Hasse) Schultz; and baptized July 20, 1924 in his family home in Bergen Twp., by the Rev. J. A. Schert.
Victor was united in marriage to Eldoris H. Litfin Dec. 30, 1945 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany, by the Rev. John Meyer.
During his early years, Victor hauled milk with his brother, Wally; operated a grocery store for 10 years in New Germany, and was employed at Federal Stamping of St. Louis Park for 33 years. He retired at age 62; and stayed active with various local jobs for a few years.
He had the opportunity to travel to California, Nevada, North Carolina, Montana, Illinois, and Arizona.
Victor’s true joys in life included spending time with his large extended family, enjoying his lake cabin on Lake Mille Lac, fishing, hunting, card games, gardening, and riding on his lawn mower.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linnea Stender; a son, Scott Schultz; granddaughter Chantal Shayanna Schultz; parents Ewald and Minnie Schultz; brothers and sister-in-law Elmer and Corrine Schultz, and Walter Schultz; sisters and brothers-in-law Edna and Edwin Schultz, Lillian and Lorenz Bergmann, Alma Rusch, Florence Schultz, and Edward Lester; father-in-law and mother-in-law Leonard Sr. and Hilda Litfin; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Leonard Jr. and Lucille Litfin.
Victor is survived by his loving family: wife Eldoris; children and spouses Dorinda and Curtis Brown of Sacramento, Calif., Brad and Vicki Schultz of Mayer, Mardeen Schultz of San Marcos, Calif., Laurie and Dave Trende of Watertown, Jerry and Bonnie Schultz of Waverly, and Julie and John Jopp of Watertown; son-in-law James Stender of New Germany; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by sisters and brother-in-law Alice Lester of Lester Prairie, and Pearl and Waldo Stender of Minnetonka; sister-in-law Iris Schultz of Lester Prairie; brother-in-law Walter Rusch of Hopkins; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany, with the Rev. Allen Holthus officiating. Interment was at St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery, New Germany.
Casket bearers were Cory Schultz, Jamie Jopp, Tyler Trende, Sam Lester, Larry Schultz, and Randy Litfin.
Honorary bearers were Jim Bergmann, Richard Rusch, and Kendall Schultz.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
