Clement “Clem” H. Schumacher obituary, 11/24/06


Clement “Clem” H. Schumacher, age 93, a lifelong resident of Independence, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006 at the Haven Homes in Maple Plain.
He was born Jan. 12, 1913 to Adam and Gertrude (Bukosky) Schumacher in Independence.
Clem was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Gertrude Schumacher; his brothers, Arthur, Sylvester, and Albert; and his sister, Laura Schmit.
Clem is survived by his wife of 70 years, Rose; children Jeannine Schumacher, Mary and Lee Dupont, Fran and Bob Bullock, Mike and Joanne Schumacher, Sharon and Scott Offerman, and Steve Schumacher; 12 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; and sisters Gertrude Thies, and Sister Laurian Schumacher O.S.B.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, Nov. 28 at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto, with the Rev. Brian Fier officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Casket bearers were Clem’s grandsons: Richard Dupont, Ronald Dupont, Michael Dupont, Daniel Schumacher, Joseph Schumacher, and Andrew Offerman. Honorary bearers were Clem’s grandchildren: Jean Bannick, Susan Steinke, Laura Schumacher, Adam Bullock, Christian Bullock, and Joshua Bullock.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
