Ryan Stephen Simmang, age 26, of Montrose, died accidentally Friday, July 14, 2006.
He was born Sept. 23, 1979 in Houston, Texas, the son of Mark E. and Marsha Lynn Baker Simmang.
He graduated in 1998 from Delano High School.
Ryan S. Simmang and Crystal E. Pope were joined in marriage Feb. 14, 2001, in Buffalo.
Ryan was currently employed at Landscape Structures in Delano, and also at Grove Creek Race Track in Grove City.
His family was his first love. He enjoyed working on cars, singing karaoke at The Squire Inn, and helping everyone. He would give the shirt off his back for anyone.
Ryan is survived by his loving wife, Crystal E. Simmang; children Caitlynn, age 7; Serenity, age 4; Rylee, age 3; and Karsen, age 2; all at home; his mother, Marsha (J. R.) Leffler of Delano; his father, Mark Simmang of Houston, Texas; a sister, Wendy Lynn Leffler of Delano; brothers Steven Wayne Denman and Kevin Alan Simmang, both of Houston, Texas; honorary sister Tina Austin of Montrose; mother-in-law and father-in-law Barbara and Phillip Pope of Montrose; grandparents Milton and Mary Simmang of Houston, Texas, Anna Jo Baker of Kingsland, Texas, and Barb & Dean LaVine of Montrose; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, J.C. “Red” Baker.
Funeral services were Wednesday, July 19 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Montrose, with Pastor Ingrid Bloom officiating. Jackie Vanderlinde was the organist. Interment followed at Kreidler Cemetery.
Friends called Tuesday, July 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
Honorary casket bearers were Joe Vail, Darrel Lambert, and Dan Carriveau.
Casket bearers were Rob Simmang, Phil Woldstad, Rick Plamann, Darren Leffler, Chad Barnett, and Tony Segler.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
