Hazel F. Splettstoeser obituary, 12/31/06


Hazel F. Splettstoeser, age 86, of Richfield, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006 with her family at her side.
She was born Jan. 5, 1920 at Tomahawk, Wis., to Carl and Edith (Tonn) Kropla. She grew up in Wausau, Wis., and grduated from high school there.
Hazel married Herbert Splettstoeser May 15, 1944, and moved to Richfield to raise their family of three children.
She was employed at Donaldson’s Department Store at Southdale for 30 years.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; a son, Mark Splettstoeser, and a brother, Rondell Kropla.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Trainer and husband, Richard; son James Splettstoeser and wife, Patti; daughter-in-law Bonnie Splettstoeser; six grandchilren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 4 at noon at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Richfield, with interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday, Jan. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel in Richfield, and continued Thursday at 11 a.m., prior to the service at noon.
Arrangements were by the Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel in Richfield.
