Lorna E. Stahlke obituary, 1/21/06


Lorna E. Stahlke, age 90 of Watertown, and formerly of New Germany, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006 at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia.
She was born Aug. 1, 1915 in Watertown Twp., Carver County, the daughter of Arthur C. and Alvina W. (Zahrendt) Krause. Lorna was baptized Sept. 5, 1915 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, by the Rev. William Schneider; and confirmed by the same April 28, 1929.
She was a graduate of Mound High School.
Lorna was united in marriage to Ralph H. Stahlke Aug. 27, 1935 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by the Rev. Schneider.
Lorna and her husband operated the grocery store in New Germany for many years.
She was a very active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and enjoying quilting.
Lorna was a former 4-H leader. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, embroidery, and doing word puzzle games.
She was a loving wife, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma.
Lorna was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; granddaughter Tara Stahlke; great-grandson Everett Stahlke; parents Arthur and Alvina Krause; brother Lloyd Krause; and sister Joyce Krause.
She is survived by her loving family: son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Connie Stahlke of New Germany; daughters LaJean Stahlke of Edina, and Lynda Stahlke of Mound; grandchildren Ricky and Shelley Stahlke, Gary and Cathy Stahlke Kristi and Andy Larsen, and Cammi Stahlke; great-grandchildren Ryan and Amber, Reed, Sarah, Brenna, Olivia, Claudia, and Weston; and great-great-granddaughter Paige.
Lorna is further survived by sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Irene Stahlke of Waconia, and Dwain and Ruth Stahlke of Spring Park; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany with the Rev. Allen Holthus officiating. Interment was at St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery in New Germany.
Casket bearers were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were by the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
