Jacob Allen Sundblad obituary, 12/1/06


Jacob Allen Sundblad, age 19, of Annandale, died in an aircraft accident Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 near Crookston.
He was born July 1, 1987 in Edina to Allen and Carla (Kamrath) Sundblad. He graduated from Annandale High School in 2006, where he was active in the National Honor Society, band, golf, and was the goalie on the Stars hockey team. He was also a member of Annandale ACT.
Jacob was currently attending the University of North Dakota School of Aviation and was a member of the ROTC. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, kayaking, camping, and flying.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Allen and Carla; brother, Philip; grandparents, Janet and Jerry Fricke of St. Michael, Clifford and Florence Sundblad of Cokato, and Ann and Vincent “Buzz” Hackman of Sumner, Iowa; great-grandparents Gladys Smith of Zumbrota, and Geraldine Hackman of Rochester; great-great-grandmother Clara Friedrich of Zumbrota; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
His grandmother, Erma Sundblad; and great-grandparents, Philip Smith and Vincent Hackman preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Annandale with the Revs. Jeff Blank and D.J. Lura officiating. Interment was in North Crow River Lutheran Cemetery, rural Cokato.
Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. A prayer service was conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers were Dan Peterson, Matthew Piram, Dale Machovsky, Jr.; Andrew Brown, Jay Kettler, and Brandon Peery.
Arrangements were with Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
