Edna R. Williams, age 94, of Howard Lake, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born Dec. 17, 1911 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Roy and Bertha (Tobey) Russell.
Edna was a devoted wife, and a loving mother who always put the needs of others first. Despite her lifelong struggle with rheumatoid arthritis, she never complained, was good-natured, witty, and full of fun. She worked tirelessly to support the endeavors of her husband, her children, and others, and will surely be missed by all who knew her.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Bernice (Russell) Sorensen; her husband, Albert E. Williams; and her son, Edson E. Williams.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Birdie (Williams) and Ed Johnson of Howard Lake, and Margaret (Williams) and Grant Meinecke of Denver, Colo.; one daughter-in-law, Sharon (McDonald) Williams of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will take place at a memorial service Sunday, Dec. 17, which would have been Edna’s 95th birthday. The service will take place at 2 p.m. at the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake.
