John “Ben” Anderson, age 94, of Annandale, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at the Annandale Care Center.
He was born Feb. 26, 1913, in Albion Township to J. F. and Ida (Rosenquist) Anderson.
John married Ione Fiedler Aug. 26, 1939, in Middleville Township. Ione preceded John in death April 15, 2002 in Buffalo.
Ben owned and operated his farm for 48 years.
He was a member of Albion Evangelical Free Church, rural Cokato, and of the ASCS Board in Buffalo for 10 years.
Ben enjoyed fishing, hunting, and baseball, especially watching the Twins. His number one priority was spending time with his grandkids, great-grandkids, and the rest of his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Hall of Cokato and Judy Howard of Annandale; five grandchildren, Sharon (Wayne) Johnson of Raleigh, N.C., David (Dawn) Swenson of Maple Grove, Eric Swenson of Kansas City, Mo., Bret (Ann) Howard, and Katie (Jeff) Jones, all of Annandale; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Ben was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law Howard Hall; brothers Ed and Russ Anderson; and sister Ruby Fiedler.
Funeral services were Thursday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Albion Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Philip Geoffrion officiating. Music was provided by Beverly Lund, organist, Norma Geoffrion, pianist, and Rod and Marilyn Twitchell, vocalists. Interment was in the Albion Evangelical Free Church Cemetery.
Friends called Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
Pallbearers were David and Eric Swenson, Bret Howard, Jeff Jones, Jim and Bill Fiedler, Jon Larson, and Wally Gloege.
Arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
