Malinda “Lindy” Bartlett
Malinda “Lindy” (Wiebusch) Bartlett, age 95, of Delano, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007.
A resident of Delano for 65 years, Lindy was recently living at the Minnetonka Assisted Living Home.
She will be remembered as an outstanding homemaker, creative gardener, and devoted church lady. A lover of children, Lindy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
For years, she worked as an election judge in Delano.
A lady of many talents, she made numerous wedding gowns, was known for her cooking, and loved to entertain. One of the highlights of every year was her Fourth of July party after the parade in Delano.
Lindy was lots of fun. She enjoyed the ladies in her card group and birthday group. A special moment in her life was when a movie, “A Simple Plan,” was made at her house. She loved to talk about her relationship with Billy Bob Thornton and Bill Paxton.
Lindy was an unforgettable lady, and she will remain an inspiration to the many people she touched.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents, William and Lydia Wiebusch; four brothers; and three sisters.
Lindy is survived by her daughters, Patricia and Trevor Owen of Cumberland, Md., and Carmen Delaney of Plymouth; grandchildren Alex and Lisa Owen, Trevor Stephen Owen, Timothy Delaney, and Kelly and Brett Maynard; seven great-grandchildren, Connor, Tanner, Walker, Hunter, Mason, Mallory, and Rylan; and a sister, Esther Johnson, as well as many relatives and friends.
Funeral services took place Thursday, Aug. 23 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano with the Rev. Paul Marggraf officiating. Interment was in the East Mt. Olive Cemetery in Delano.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
