Frances Marie Blue
Frances Marie Blue (Dougherty), age 92, of Loretto, formerly of Litchfield, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007 at her home.
She was born to John and Mary Katherine Dougherty Feb. 11, 1915 in Litchfield.
Frances worked on the family dairy farm with her brothers, Jack and Robert, and her sister, Margaret.
She went to school in Litchfield, were she graduated. Frances then continued her education in St. Cloud, where she received her teaching certificate. She returned home to Litchfield to teach in a one-room schoolhouse.
Frances met Perry Blue and was married in 1941. She continued teaching until Perry came home from the war.
They then had a dairy farm and started a family of 10 children. Frances and Perry lived in several locations during their life together, finally residing in Loretto.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Perry; son Randy; sons-in-law Michael Coyle, George Lindenfelser, and Steve Luoma; her parents; two brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by nine children; Rose and Leon Schumacher, Jean and Paul Fillmore, Barb and Pat Stoddard, Jeanette Luoma, Mary and Mike Stoddard, Rod and Sheree Blue, Theresa Lindenfelser, Betty Jo and Tim Reiss, and Richard Blue and daughter-in-law, Vicki Blue; 39 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 14 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto with the Rev. Brian Fier officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
