Harriet Eileen Broberg
Harriet Eileen Broberg, age 86, of Edina, formerly of Dassel, died Friday, July 27, 2007.
She was born in Dassel Feb. 8, 1921, the daughter of Martin and Minnie Broberg.
Harriet graduated from Dassel High School in 1938, and the Calhoun Business College in Minneapolis in 1939.
After 45 years of service, Harriet retired in May of 1986 from First Bank Minneapolis, now known as US Bank.
She resided in Edina for over 50 years in the family home, designed by her brother, Wally, an architect.
Harriet loved to travel. She had been to all 50 states of the US, and had traveled to Europe four times.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Minnie Broberg; her sisters, Dolores Broberg and Janet Halvorson; and her brother, Wallace Broberg.
Harriet is survived by a sister, Lavone Broberg; a niece, Sarah Broberg; three nephews, Daniel and Samuel (Bridget) Broberg, and Harris (Sharon) Halverson; six grandnephews; Becky Brodin, who is like a niece to Harriet; cousins; and dear friend, Janet Dunn.
Funeral service was Friday, Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis with the Rev. Laurel V. Lindberg officiating. Music was provided by violinist Hans Peterson, and pianist Geri Peterson. Interment was in Lakewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dan Broberg, Sam Broberg, Marty Broberg, Tyler Broberg, Becky Brodin, Janet Dunn, and Neil Brodin. Honorary pallbearers were Nick Broberg, Alex Broberg, Zack Broberg, and Bridget Broberg.
