Dennis E. Burandt

Dennis E. Burandt, age 76, of Young America, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at his home.

He was born June 15, 1931 in Mayer, the son of Edwin and Ella (Gatz) Burandt. Dennis was baptized July 5, 1931 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by the Rev. William Schneider, and confirmed March 25, 1945 at the same church by the Rev. Robert Heyne.

Dennis was united in marriage to Margaret A. Trick Sept. 11, 1954 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Young America by the Rev. W. P. Kramer.

Dennis was a retired member of the Young America Fire Dept., and retired from Eaton Corporation in Eden Prairie. He was currently employed at Medallion Cabinets in Waconia.

He enjoyed gardening and yard care and going to his cabin in Annandale, and was a loving husband.

He is survived by his loving family; wife Margaret “Maggie;” sisters and brothers and their spouses, Pearl Menden of Shakopee, Alvin and Flora Burandt of Young America, Marjorie Lenz of Watertown, Sylvia and Ray Dummer of Mayer, Darlene and Harvey Tesch of Shakopee, Melvin and Anna Burandt of Buffalo, Larry and Joyce Burandt of Lester Prairie, Diane Kyes of Bismarck, N.D., and Karen and Marcel Gueningsman of Shakopee; sisters-in-law Phyllis Livingston of Norwood, Gloria Ware of Waconia, Harriet Trick of Minneapolis, and Carol Trick of Farm Island; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Ella Burandt; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Otto and Irene Trick; brothers-in-law Irvin Menden, Lester Lenz, Bruce Kyes, and Howard Trick; and nephews, James and Torry Burandt.

Funeral service was Sunday, Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Young America with the Rev. David Winter officiating. Interment was at Mau Memorial Cemetery in Young America.

Casket bearers were Scott Trick, Jeff Trick, Neil Dummer, Fred Lenz, Ivan Burandt, and Kenneth Tesch.

Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
