Arden Delbert Cochran
Arden Delbert Cochran, age 73, of Rice, Minn., formerly of Hector, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at his home.
He was born Nov. 8, 1933, in Middleville Township, Wright County, the son of George “Deb” and Eva (Mistelski) Cochran. He grew up in Waverly, where he attended school.
Arden was united in marriage to Grace Albertson Aug. 17, 1954 in Mason City, Iowa, and they were remarried June 18, 1977, in Howard Lake.
It was in 1977 that Arden was baptized into his Christian faith. He was active in church, and was currently a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake.
During his adult life, Arden lived in Moorhead, Elk River, Hector, and for his last year, he lived in Rice.
He worked various jobs, and owned and operated a business, Waste Oil Services. He retired in 1987.
Grace died Nov. 16, 1990, and Arden continued living in Hector. He was united in marriage to Betty Nordhausen Sept. 11, 1993 in Hector.
Arden enjoyed mowing his lawn, farming, driving truck, and visiting at the coffee shop.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Cochran of Rice; children: Barbara Cochran of Brooklyn Center, Kenneth Cochran of St. Cloud, Leonard Cochran and wife Roxanne of Winsted, and Kelly Nordhausen and wife Trista of Alexandria, step-children: Augie Nordhausen and wife Kathy of Elk River, Kevin Nordhausen and wife Loreli of Glenwood, Bruce Nordhausen and wife Sherri of Rice, Roni Becker and husband Brett of Park Rapids, and Roxy Hansen of Glenwood; grandchildren: Aaron Cochran, Tara Cochran, Nick Clinton, Nichole Nelson, Denice Pekel, Gordie Nordhausen, Angel Victor, Chad Nordhausen, Ben Nordhausen, Jeremy Bernhardt, Billy Hanson, Josh Hanson, B.J. Nordhausen, Weston Nordhausen, Hana Nordhausen, and Nathan Nordhausen; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Arden is further survived by sister: Joyce Shrode and husband Gordon of Lester Prairie, and Mona Fasching and husband Robert of Maple Grove; brothers-in-law: Pence Howard and wife Ione of Boone, Iowa, Art Howard and wife Janet of Emmetsburg, Iowa, and Clayton Albertson and wife Ruth of Odenton, Maryland; sisters-in-law: Ann Linn and husband Goody of Estherville, Iowa, Mellie Kamrath of Henning, Minn., Jennie Menssen and husband LeRoy of Estherville, Iowa, Mary Ann Moll and husband Harold of Baxter, Minn., and Elaine Qual of Lisbon, N.D.; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his first wife, Grace; Arden was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sons; and by his brother, Gerald Cochran.
Funeral Service was Saturday, March 24 at 11 a.m. at the Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake.
Visitation took place Friday, March 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, and continued Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements were by the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector.
