Edward Theodore Dehn
Edward Theodore Dehn, age 81, passed away in Spring Hill, Fla., May 31, 2007.
Edward was born Dec. 8, 1925 in Anoka, Minnesota to Louis and Laura Dehn. He grew up in Anoka, attending country school first, and then Anoka High School. Following high school, Edward worked on the farm before joining the United States Army. Edward served his country from Nov. 1944 to Aug. 1946.
Edward was married to Irene in Oct. of 1952 at St. John’s Bezentine Church of Minneapolis. They lived in Edina until 1957, then in Minneapolis until 1961. They then lived in Burnsville, and in 1968 they moved to the farm in Waverly. In 1981, Edward and Irene made their home in Florida.
For over 30 years, Edward worked for Bachman’s Nursery, doing excavating and landscaping. He also operated a hobby farm. Edward enjoyed collecting antiques, boating, fishing, spearing and hunting. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Irene; daughter, Lisa of Howard Lake; sons, Edward Jr. of Waconia, Steven of Delano and Thomas of Floral City, Fla; sister, Lavina Gustafson of Edmond, OK; brothers, Louis of Anoka, Archie of Buffalo Lake, and Richard of Princeton; eight grandchildren and one great- grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Laura; brother, Alvin, and sister, Bernice Gustafson.
The family was served by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home.
