Marvin Donald Doering

Marvin Donald Doering, age 81, of Long Prairie, and formally of Waverly, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007 in Staples, Minn.

He was born Dec. 23, 1925 in Howard Lake to Edmond and Bertha (nee Derick) Doering.

Marvin lived most of his life in Waverly. He worked for Frank and Dora Wondersee farming in Waverly, and for Pat McHale Hardware of Waverly. He ran movie projectors in five theaters and worked in radio and television in Waverly.

Marvin retired from General Parts and Supply in Minneapolis in 1987. He and his wife, Marlyne, moved to Browerville after his retirement and then, in 2001, to Long Prairie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Bertha Doering; a sister, Esther Doering Anders; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Marlyne (nee Moulton); and a son, Marcus.

A memorial service took place Friday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. at American Lutheran Church in Long Prairie, with one hour visitation prior to the start of the service. Interment was at Howard Lake Cemetery in Howard Lake.

The Peterson Chapel Buffalo served the family.
