JoAnn Mae Eder
JoAnn Mae Eder, age 69, of Maple Plain, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born May 1, 1937 in Young America, the daughter of Fred W. and Lenora (Roepke) Schmidt.
JoAnn spent her youth in Maple Plain, and graduated from Mound High School in 1955.
She was employed at First National Bank in Minneapolis.
JoAnn was united in marriage to Donald J. Eder Sept. 27, 1958 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, JoAnn began raising their five children in rural Maple Plain.
She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, reading, bowling, and tending to her many flower gardens; and she was an immaculate housekeeper.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lenora Schmidt; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Cecilia Eder; and sons-in-law, Chris Kulenkamp and Ronald Anderson.
She is survived by her loving family: husband Donald; children and spouses, Cindy and Jerry Dube of St. Francis, Steven Eder of Delano, Rhonda Anderson of Apple Valley, Brenda and Mark Lundquist of Cologne, and Amy and Jerome Vanderlinde of Watertown; grandchildren Jeremy and Brianna Vanderlinde, Rachel and Stacy Anderson, Nicholas, Alyssa and Abby Lundquist, Rachel and Nick Nelson, Jill Largent, and Jennifer and Steve Partlow; and great-grandchildren, Anthony, Janessa, Dillon, Jake, Dayne, Araseli, Ryan, and Marshall.
JoAnn is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Linus and Beverly Schmidt of Watertown, Orlyn “Buddy” Schmidt of Waconia, Ronald and Joyce Schmidt of Maple Plain, and Joyce Sheffield of Wyoming, Minn.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Florian and Sally Eder of St. Bonifacius, and Dorothy and Douglas Broeckert of St. Bonifacius; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service took place Saturday Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Donald Taylor officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Casket bearers were Todd Schmidt, Scott Schmidt, Mark Broeckert, Kevin Broeckert, Paul Eder, and Gary Eder.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
