Esther Lovise Geesey
Esther Lovise Geesey, age 92, of Dassel, died Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Dassel Lakeside Community Home.
She was born June 11, 1915 in Willmar, the daughter of Alfred and Hulda Johnson.
Esther was united in marriage to Nelson Geesey May 24, 1946 in Valdosta, Ga. She and Nelson met while they both served in the military.
After they were married, they made their home in Montana from 1946 until 1957. They then lived in Atwater, Cokato, and the state of Washington before they moved to Dassel in 1966.
Esther lived in Darwin and Litchfield before she moved into the Dassel Lakeside Community Home in July of 2006.
During her lifetime, Esther worked as a waitress, for Dura Supreme, and for Storm Industries.
She was proud of her military service, serving in the Army Air Corps from October of 1944 until June of 1946.
Esther is survived by her children, Kenneth Geesey of Hankinson, N.D., Frank (Shelley) Geesey of Sacramento, Calif., and Denise Geesey of Darwin; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings Clifford Johnson of Litchfield, Al Johnson of Great Falls, Mont., and Betty Linden of Mt. Vernon, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Knute, John, and Glenn; and one sister, Bertha.
A funeral service took place Saturday, June 23 at 1 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel, with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Interment was at the Union Cemetery in Atwater.
The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel handled the arrangements.
